How does this all work?
Radio traffic on the trunked radio system is captured over the air by several software-defined-radio receivers and fed to a processing server, which converts the radio data to audio sorted by talkgroup. Talkgroup and unit information is fed to a web server housed in a secure data center, as are audio files of the actual radio transmissions.
We record dispatch and operations talkgroups for many users of the Montgomery County trunked radio system. We do not record encrypted talkgroups, ambulance-to-hospital communications, police tactical operations, and any other talkgroups which primarily contain personal or sensitive information.
